FAQs
What does the "Add a thumbnail image to adhoc price line items" feature do?
This feature lets you attach a small thumbnail image to adhoc price line items in QuoteCloud so each item in a price table has a visual reference. Thumbnails display next to the item description and pricing to make tables more engaging and easier to scan.
Why should I add thumbnail images to adhoc price line items?
Thumbnail images help clients quickly identify products or services in a price table, improving clarity and visual appeal. Visual cues reduce confusion during the quoting process and can speed decision-making by making items easier to scan and recognise.
Using thumbnails in your sales quoting software or sales proposal software can make proposals look more professional and may increase conversion rates by helping recipients understand offerings at a glance.
Where do thumbnail images appear in QuoteCloud?
Thumbnails are displayed inline within interactive price tables, adjacent to their corresponding adhoc line items. Recipients viewing the quote or proposal will see a small visual reference next to the item description and pricing in the pricing table view.
Which type of line items can have thumbnails attached?
The thumbnail feature applies to adhoc price line items—items you add directly into a price table. It does not automatically apply to items pulled from a linked product catalogue unless that catalogue item has been configured to include a thumbnail in your catalogue setup.
Will thumbnail images appear in documents generated by QuoteCloud?
QuoteCloud’s document generation supports interactive smart pricing tables and many rich document elements. Thumbnails can be included in exported proposals and documents when the document template and generation settings support images in pricing tables.
How do I add a thumbnail to an adhoc price line item?
Edit the price table, add or select the adhoc line item you want to illustrate, then use the thumbnail or image upload field to upload an image from your computer or paste a supported image URL. Save the line item and preview the quote to confirm the thumbnail appears where expected.
What image formats and sizes are recommended for thumbnails?
Use common web image formats such as JPEG or PNG for best compatibility. Keep thumbnails small and optimized for web—square images between roughly 100x100 and 300x300 pixels often work well, and aim for a low file size (for example under 200 KB) to preserve document performance and fast loading.
Will thumbnails affect load time or document performance?
Small, optimized thumbnails have minimal impact on load time. To keep interactive quotes and exported proposals responsive, compress images, limit pixel dimensions, and avoid very large file sizes. Optimized thumbnails improve recipient experience across devices and help your quote software and proposal software run smoothly.
