FAQs
What are sections in a QuoteCloud price table?
Sections are grouping elements inside a QuoteCloud price table that let you organise related products or services into clear, structured blocks. They break long lists of line items into logical groups—such as product families, service types, or optional add‑ons—making price tables easier to read and manage within your sales quoting software or quote software.
Why should I add sections to my price tables?
Adding sections improves clarity and professionalism: items presented in logical groups are faster to scan, reduce confusion, and help recipients compare and select options. For teams using sales proposal software and sales quoting software, well‑structured sections speed decision‑making and make proposals and quotes look more polished.
How do sections affect the recipient experience?
Sections guide recipients through related offerings so they can find relevant items without wading through an unorganised list. This creates a smoother, more intuitive review and selection process, which increases the likelihood of a quick, confident response to your proposal or quote.
How do I add a section in a QuoteCloud price table?
Open the document editor and edit the price table you want to change. From the price table controls you can add a new section, give it a descriptive name, and place or move line items into that section. Arrange and reorder sections to match how you want customers to view and choose offerings, then save the document.
Can sections be used with QuoteCloud’s interactive pricing tables?
Yes. QuoteCloud supports interactive smart pricing tables and sections work in those interactive tables so clients can view and select grouped options more easily within a live quote or proposal document created with our proposal software.
Will sections carry through when exporting documents or syncing with accounting or CRM tools?
Yes. Sections are preserved when you export documents (PDF, Word, etc.) and when you sync quotes or invoices with accounting or CRM systems. This ensures the same organised structure appears in downstream systems such as QuickBooks Online and other integrations.
Can I reorder, rename or merge sections after creating them?
Yes. Use the price table controls to reorder sections (drag and drop or use move controls), rename a section to improve clarity, or merge sections by moving line items between them. You can also delete an unused section—line items will remain available to move before you remove it.
What are best practices for naming and using sections in quotes and proposals?
Use concise, descriptive section names (for example “Core Package,” “Optional Add‑Ons,” or “Support & Maintenance”) so recipients instantly understand the grouping. Group related items by function or decision point, keep sections short and scannable, and use optional sections for upsells. These practices help your sales proposal software and quote software produce cleaner, more persuasive documents.
