FAQs
What does allowing a recipient to change the quantity mean?
Allowing a recipient to change the quantity gives your customer the ability to update the number of units they want to purchase directly inside the QuoteCloud price table while reviewing a sales quote or proposal. This makes your quote software interactive so clients can tailor order sizes without contacting your sales team.
How do I enable this feature in a price table?
Open the price table editor in QuoteCloud, select the line item(s) you want to make interactive, and turn on the option that permits recipients to edit the quantity field. Save the price table and publish the document—recipients will then be able to adjust quantities when they view the quote or proposal.
Can I allow quantity changes for all line items or only some?
Yes. You can enable recipient quantity changes for the entire price table or selectively for specific line items. Any items you don’t want altered can be locked so recipients cannot edit those quantities, giving you fine-grained control over what parts of the quote are editable.
Does changing quantities affect totals, taxes, and discounts automatically?
Yes. When a recipient updates a quantity, QuoteCloud recalculates line totals, overall totals, taxes, and any applied discounts instantly so the quote always reflects the new order value. This ensures the sales quoting software and proposal software always show accurate pricing.
Why should I allow recipients to change quantities on a quote?
Allowing quantity changes makes quotes more interactive and flexible, helps clients choose the right amount for their needs, speeds up decision-making, and reduces time-consuming back-and-forth with your sales team. For businesses using sales proposal software or quote software, this flexibility improves conversion rates and shortens the sales cycle.
Can I restrict how much a recipient can change a quantity (for example set min/max or fixed increments)?
QuoteCloud lets you control which fields are editable and lock line items. If you need stricter controls such as minimums, maximums, or step increments, check the price table settings in the editor or consult your QuoteCloud configuration options for advanced constraints.
Will quantity changes sync with accounting integrations like QuickBooks Online?
If you have QuoteCloud connected to QuickBooks Online (or other integrations), updated quote data can be passed through according to your integration settings. For example, when configured, QuoteCloud can generate invoices and sync transaction data to QuickBooks—verify your integration mapping so quantity changes carry through as expected.
Where can I find more help configuring recipient-editable fields in QuoteCloud?
For step-by-step guidance, open the price table editor in your QuoteCloud account and review the inline help or documentation links. If you need further assistance configuring editable fields, min/max settings, or integration behavior, contact QuoteCloud support or consult the product user guide.
