Change a column's width

You don't need to click into the table first.

  1. Hover over the divider between two columns. A blue line appears.

  2. Drag the divider left or right. The line follows your pointer as the two columns change.

  3. Let go to keep the new widths.

Only the two columns next to the divider change. Every other column stays where it is, and so does the overall width of the table.

On a touch screen, tap a cell in the table first, then drag the divider.

The touch editor with the Insert, Pages, Data, Theme and More bar doesn't have column dividers. Tables there keep the widths set in the desktop editor.

Limits

A column can't go narrower than the table's minimum column width. The divider stops there, even if you keep dragging.

Undo a change

Each drag is one step. Press Cmd+Z on a Mac or Ctrl+Z on Windows to put the columns back.

Make all columns the same width

Double-click any divider to make every column in the table the same width. This replaces any widths you've set, so press undo if you do it by accident.

Where your widths appear

Widths are saved with the document. Customers see the same column widths in the viewer and in the PDF.
