In the document editor, click the + button where you want to add your first block. This opens the block options menu, where you can choose the type of content you want to add.Add a Text Block
From the block options menu, select Text . Add the Text Block to the right side of the container. This will become the right column of your layout.Use the side + icon
Click the + icon on the left side of the Text Block. This lets you add another block beside the Text Block instead of placing it above or below.Add another block to the left column
Click the + icon above the left column area to open the block options again. The new block will be added beside your existing Text Block, creating a two-column row.Select the Video Block
Under the block options, select Video . The Video Block will be placed in the left column, next to your Text Block.Review the two-column container
You now have a two-column container row with a Video Block on the left and a Text Block on the right. You can click into either block to update the video, edit the text, or adjust the content as needed.
FAQs
What is a two-column layout in QuoteCloud and why use it?
A two-column layout splits a document page into two vertical sections so you can present related information side-by-side. In QuoteCloud this is created using rows and columns and is ideal for improving readability, keeping pricing next to descriptions, and creating more professional-looking sales quotes and proposals. Using columns helps your sales quoting software and proposal software output look cleaner and reduces scrolling for recipients.
How do I create a two-column layout on a document page in QuoteCloud?
Open the document in the QuoteCloud document editor, insert a new row, then choose a two-column structure (or add two columns to an existing row). Drag and drop content blocks—text, images, pricing tables or quote software blocks—into each column. Adjust column widths, padding and alignment from the row/column settings until the layout matches your brand and readability goals.
Which content types work best in a two-column layout for proposals and quotes?
Two-column layouts work especially well for pairing product or service images with descriptions, listing feature bullets next to pricing, placing terms beside signature blocks, or showing summary pricing on one side with detailed line items on the other. This makes the layout particularly useful when using QuoteCloud as sales proposal software or quote software to present complex information clearly.
Can I use two-column layouts inside templates and branded proposals?
Yes. Two-column rows can be saved inside QuoteCloud templates so your branded proposals and sales documents keep a consistent, professional format. Templates allow you to reuse two-column sections across quotes and proposals, which speeds up document creation and keeps branding consistent across your sales quoting software outputs.
Will a two-column layout export correctly to PDF and work in email previews?
Yes. QuoteCloud renders rows and columns when exporting to PDF and when viewing documents in email previews. To ensure the best results, preview the document before sending and test a PDF export—adjust column widths and spacing if content looks crowded. Two-column designs are commonly used in proposal software to produce polished, print-ready PDFs.
How does a two-column layout behave on mobile or small screens?
QuoteCloud is designed to keep documents readable on different screen sizes. On narrow screens, two-column layouts typically stack the columns vertically to preserve readability. When creating layouts for sales quoting software or proposal software, test on mobile previews and keep important call-to-action elements near the top of a column so they remain visible after stacking.
Are there accessibility or best-practice tips for two-column documents?
Use clear heading hierarchy, sufficient contrast, and logical reading order so screen readers and all recipients can follow the content. Avoid placing long paragraphs in narrow columns—short paragraphs or bullets work better. Keep pricing and action items prominent, and test both print and digital views. These best practices help your quote software and sales proposal software produce accessible, high-converting documents.
What if columns don’t align or content overflows—how do I troubleshoot layout issues?
If columns misalign or content overflows, check for large images or tables, reduce font sizes or adjust column widths, and add more padding. Use the editor’s preview and page-break controls to manage long tables or pricing grids. If integration features (like syncing invoices to QuickBooks Online) appear affected, remember that layout changes only affect document presentation and won’t break accounting sync—verify export settings and re-run the PDF export to confirm the fix.
