FAQs
What is a document section in QuoteCloud and why should I add one?
A document section is a discrete block inside your QuoteCloud document that groups related content such as an overview, scope, pricing, or terms. Adding sections makes long proposals and quotes easier to read, improves logical flow, and helps recipients find key information quickly. Using sections is especially valuable when you use QuoteCloud as sales quoting software or sales proposal software because it keeps pricing, scope, and legal text clearly separated and brand-consistent.
How do I add and name a new document section in QuoteCloud?
To add a section, open the document editor, click the 'Add section' control, enter a concise section title, and save. Choose names that reflect the content, for example 'Project Summary', 'Pricing & Options', or 'Terms and Conditions'. Clear names help internal teams and clients navigate documents created with QuoteCloud quote software or proposal software.
How can I position or reorder sections within my document?
QuoteCloud lets you position sections by dragging and dropping them in the editor or by using move up/move down controls. Insert a new section between existing ones to introduce pricing tables, images, or contract clauses at the right point in the reader's journey. Reordering sections is immediate and keeps your document structure flexible as proposals evolve.
Can I use document sections with templates and custom branding for proposals?
Yes. Sections are fully compatible with QuoteCloud templates and your branded themes. Build reusable template documents divided into named sections so your team can generate consistent proposals faster. This is a common best practice for teams using sales proposal software or proposal software to scale professional, on-brand documents.
Do document sections work with interactive pricing or sales quote tables?
Absolutely. You can place interactive pricing and smart sales quote tables inside a dedicated 'Pricing' section. QuoteCloud supports embedded, editable tables so clients can toggle options or select services directly in the document. Organizing pricing in its own section improves clarity and reduces back-and-forth during negotiations when using quote software features.
Can team members collaborate on specific sections and use electronic signatures?
Yes. Sections can be the focus of collaborative review, comments, and in-line editing by assigned reviewers. When the document is final, electronic signature fields can be added to the appropriate section, allowing clients to sign just the terms or the full document. This workflow supports fast approvals in modern sales quoting software and sales proposal software environments.
Will sectioned documents sync properly with QuickBooks Online and other integrations?
Sectioned documents in QuoteCloud integrate cleanly with QuickBooks Online and other accounting or CRM systems. Financial data generated from the pricing section can be converted into invoices or synced as transactions, reducing manual entry and improving accuracy when you use QuoteCloud with QuickBooks or similar platforms.
Is using sections a good approach for high-volume document production and automation?
Yes. Structuring documents into sections makes it easier to automate generation, reuse content blocks, and run bulk exports or merges. When combined with templates, conditional content, and role-based access, sections help teams scale document creation and maintain consistency across thousands of proposals and quotes using QuoteCloud as quote software and proposal software.
