To make the content visible again, right-click on the block once more. Open the same container controls used previously.Restore recipient visibility
From the context menu, select Container → Show to recipient . The hidden state will be removed and the content will become visible again in recipient view.Confirm the content is visible
Once restored, the grey visibility indicator will disappear from the content block. The content is now fully visible to document recipients again.
FAQs
What is container visibility in QuoteCloud and why does it matter?
Container visibility lets you show or hide content blocks (containers) inside a QuoteCloud document based on conditions or user roles. This enables dynamic, personalised documents so your proposals and quotes only display relevant information to each recipient, improving clarity and professionalism in your sales quoting software or sales proposal software.
How do I create and edit visibility rules for a container?
Open the document editor, select the container you want to control, and open its Visibility settings. Use the condition builder to add rules based on form fields, product selections, user role, or other document variables. Save and preview the document to confirm the container appears or hides as expected. These rules work the same way in templates and individual documents.
Can I show or hide content blocks based on user roles or team membership?
Yes. QuoteCloud supports role-based visibility so you can tailor documents for internal reviewers, sales reps, or customers. Assign visibility conditions that check the current user’s role or permissions; then preview the document as different roles to verify the behavior before sending.
Will hidden containers be included in exported PDFs or when synced to other systems?
No. Containers hidden by visibility rules do not appear in client-facing exports (PDFs, emailed proposals) or in the recipient’s view. When integrating with downstream systems (for example invoicing or accounting), QuoteCloud only includes visible content and line items in the generated outputs.
Can I use container visibility with interactive pricing or sales quote tables?
Absolutely. Visibility rules can be applied to sections that contain interactive pricing tables and configurable line items. That means row groups, discounts, or optional services can automatically show or hide based on customer selections—making QuoteCloud a powerful quote software and proposal software tool for interactive sales flows.
Does container visibility carry over to templates and high-volume document production?
Yes. Visibility settings saved in templates persist when you generate documents at scale, enabling consistent personalised documents across many customers. This makes it easier to automate proposals and quotes while still using intelligent, conditional content in your sales proposal software workflow.
How does container visibility affect integrations like QuickBooks Online?
When QuoteCloud syncs data to integrations such as QuickBooks Online, it uses the document’s visible content and line items. Hidden containers and lines aren’t included in the synced invoice or transaction data, helping ensure your accounting records reflect exactly what was presented to the customer. For more on integration setup, see the QuoteCloud with QuickBooks Online guide.
What are best practices and common troubleshooting tips for managing container visibility?
Best practices: give containers clear names, document your condition logic, test visibility using different preview roles and sample data, and keep conditions as simple and modular as possible. Troubleshooting: verify the condition variables exist and are populated, check role permissions, and preview the final exported PDF. If you still see unexpected behavior, consult the QuoteCloud User Guide (Edge Edition) Version 2025 or contact support for assistance.
