FAQs
What is the "Adding Background Images to a Page" feature in QuoteCloud?
The Adding Background Images to a Page feature in QuoteCloud lets you place custom images behind the content of a document page or template. It’s designed to help you produce visually engaging, professional-looking quotes and proposals that reflect your brand and messaging within your sales quoting software or sales proposal software workflow.
Why should I add a background image to a QuoteCloud document?
Background images reinforce branding and improve visual appeal, making proposals and quotes look more polished and easier for clients to recognise. When used appropriately, they help convey tone, highlight important pages and create a consistent identity across documents produced with your quote software or proposal software.
Which documents or pages can I apply a background image to in QuoteCloud?
You can add background images to pages inside QuoteCloud documents and to templates while editing them in the QuoteCloud editor. Note: background images cannot be applied to PDF pages exported from QuoteCloud.
How do I add a background image to a page in QuoteCloud?
Open the document or template in the QuoteCloud editor and select the page you want to change. Choose the background image option, then upload a new image or pick one from your image library. After adding the image, adjust size, position and any overlays, then save the page or template to apply the background.
Can I edit or customise a background image after adding it?
Yes. QuoteCloud allows post-upload customisation: apply colour overlays, change opacity, resize or reposition the image, and tweak text placement so your content remains legible and well balanced against the background.
What image formats, size and quality should I use for background images?
Use common web-ready formats such as JPEG for photographic images and PNG for images requiring transparency. Choose high-resolution images sized and cropped to match your page aspect ratio to avoid stretching; keep file sizes reasonable to maintain editor performance. Prefer subtle, low-contrast images so text remains readable when exporting or viewing in your quote software.
Will background images appear in exported PDFs or printed documents?
No — background images added via the QuoteCloud background feature cannot be applied to PDF pages exported from QuoteCloud. If you must include a visual in an exported PDF, consider embedding the image directly into the page content or template artwork so it is preserved when exporting.
What are best practices for using background images in quotes and proposals?
Choose images that support your brand without overpowering content: use simple textures or brand patterns, apply a semi-opaque overlay for contrast, test text legibility across devices, and keep backgrounds consistent across templates. These practices help your sales quoting software and sales proposal software documents look professional and keep the reader focused on the offer.
