FAQs
What does the "Delete node" user guide cover?
The Delete node guide explains how to remove a node from a QuoteCloud workflow. It describes the official UI steps, confirmation prompts and system messages you will see, plus the cautions and considerations needed when editing approval and automation flows in your sales quoting software or sales proposal software.
How do I delete a node in a QuoteCloud workflow?
Follow the step‑by‑step procedure on the Delete node page: open the workflow editor, select the node you want to remove, choose the Delete action and confirm the system prompt. The guide lists the exact UI actions and any system messages generated when the node is removed from your quote software or proposal software workflow.
Always read the on‑screen confirmation and review any warnings before finalising the deletion.
What should I check before deleting a node?
Before deleting a node, confirm downstream dependencies, active triggers, linked actions, and any conditions or rules that reference the node. Check for in‑progress approvals or automation that rely on the node, and look for integrations (for example accounting or document generation) that might be impacted.
Where possible, test the change in a sandbox or duplicate workflow and export or backup the workflow configuration so you can restore settings if needed.
Will deleting a node affect active quotes or proposals?
Deleting a node can affect active or pending quotes and proposals if those documents are routed through the changed part of the workflow. Approval steps, notifications and automated actions attached to the node may stop running or follow alternate paths.
Review any open documents that may be mid‑flow and test the change in a safe environment to minimise disruption to your sales quoting software or proposal software processes.
Can a deleted node be recovered or undone?
Recovery options depend on your QuoteCloud account and configuration. Some accounts offer version history, an undo/recycle feature or workflow backups that allow restoration; in other cases a deleted node must be recreated manually.
Check the Delete node guide and your organisation's admin settings to confirm whether versioning or restore functionality is available, and keep backups before making changes.
Who is allowed to delete nodes in a workflow?
Permissions to modify workflows are managed by your QuoteCloud account settings. Typically only users with admin or workflow‑edit privileges can remove nodes. The Delete node page outlines the specific roles and permissions required for your organisation.
If you don’t have the required permissions, contact a workspace administrator to perform the change or to adjust your role.
How can I safely test node deletions before applying them live?
Create a duplicate of the workflow or use a sandbox/test environment to apply the deletion and run sample quotes and proposals. Verify approval routes, triggers, and any integrations (for example invoicing or QuickBooks sync) still behave as expected.
Export the workflow configuration before testing so you can quickly restore the previous state if the change causes unexpected issues.
What are best practices for maintaining approval and automation flows in QuoteCloud?
Document every workflow change, use versioning or backups, test edits in a sandbox, and limit direct edits in production. Notify affected teams of upcoming changes, and monitor triggered automations and active quotes after making modifications.
Following these practices helps keep your approval flows reliable and reduces the risk of disruptions in your quote software or proposal software processes.
