FAQs
What does showing or hiding totals in a price table mean?
Showing or hiding totals controls whether the price summary (subtotal, discounts, taxes and grand total) is displayed at the bottom of a QuoteCloud price table. This only changes the visible presentation in your quote or proposal—underlying calculations remain unchanged by the display setting.
How can I hide the totals section in QuoteCloud?
Open the document, launch the price table editor, go to the totals or summary settings, and toggle the totals visibility option off. Once disabled, the totals row will no longer appear in the price table inside the editor or in generated document views such as PDFs and shared links. This is useful when using quote software to present line-item detail without a final sum.
Can I show totals again after hiding them?
Yes. Return to the price table editor and switch the totals visibility back on. The totals will immediately reappear in the table and in any regenerated documents or shared links—so you can toggle presentation on and off as you prepare quotes and proposals with your sales proposal software.
Does hiding totals affect how QuoteCloud calculates prices or exports data?
No. QuoteCloud continues to compute subtotals, discounts, taxes and the grand total in the background. Hiding totals only alters visual presentation for clients or reviewers; numeric calculations, API data, and integration exports remain accurate when using sales quoting software or proposal software.
Why would I want to hide totals on a quote or proposal?
Hiding totals can simplify presentation when you want to emphasize individual line items, show a detailed pricing breakdown, or encourage discussion without revealing a final sum. It’s helpful for staged proposals, negotiation phases, internal drafts, or when using sales quoting software or sales proposal software to present options rather than a single final price.
Will hidden totals be removed from PDFs and shared links?
Yes. When you disable totals visibility in the price table editor, the totals row will not appear in generated PDFs or shared links. The document still contains the calculated amounts internally—only the visible totals section is suppressed in the exported or shared views.
Can I hide totals for specific price tables or is it a global setting?
Hide/show is controlled per price table within the document editor, so you can choose to display totals on some tables while hiding them on others. This per-table control gives you flexible presentation when preparing proposals or quotes with your quote software.
Does hiding totals affect integrations like QuickBooks or other accounting exports?
No. Hiding the totals section only changes how the document looks. Integrations and accounting exports (for example syncing to QuickBooks Online) continue to receive the underlying numerical data and remain accurate—so your financial workflows are not affected by presentation choices in your proposal software.
