FAQs
What are page headers and footers in QuoteCloud?
Page headers and footers in QuoteCloud are fixed top and bottom sections that appear on every exported PDF. They let you add consistent branding, contact details, page numbers, dates, and legal text so every quote or proposal looks uniform and professional.
Why should I add headers and footers to my PDFs?
Headers and footers ensure consistent branding and legal compliance across all documents, improve navigation in long PDFs with page numbers or dates, and reinforce company and contact information on every page. For teams using sales quoting software or sales proposal software, this creates a more professional and trustworthy experience for clients and helps protect your terms and visibility in every quote or proposal.
What types of content can I include in a header or footer?
QuoteCloud supports a variety of elements in headers and footers, including text blocks, shapes, image blocks, barcode blocks and QR codes. Use these building blocks to include logos, legal notices, dates, page numbers, tracking barcodes/QRs, and other branded content.
How do I add my company logo to the PDF header and make sure it renders correctly?
Add your logo using an image block in the layout editor. Upload a high-quality asset (SVG, PNG or high-res JPG), set an appropriate size and alignment, and place it within the header safe area so it won’t be cut off by page margins.
Always use Preview to confirm the logo displays clearly across different pages before exporting your PDF; this helps avoid blurry or misaligned logos when generating quotes from quote software or proposal software.
Can I include dates, page numbers, and legal notices in headers or footers?
Yes. Use text blocks and supported elements to insert dates, page numbers, terms, disclaimers, or legal notices into the header or footer. These items will appear on every exported PDF so your sales documents carry consistent legal and reference information.
How do I apply headers and footers across multiple templates or documents?
You can configure headers and footers within a document template so they apply to every quote or proposal generated from that template. For one-off documents, adjust the layout in the layout editor before exporting. Using templates in quote software ensures consistent branding across all sales materials and saves time for teams that send many proposals.
What are best practices for header/footer design in QuoteCloud PDFs?
Keep headers and footers clean and uncluttered: use legible fonts, maintain sufficient contrast, and size logos and barcodes so they’re readable but not overpowering. Respect the header/footer safe area and page margins, prioritize essential info (company name, contact, page number), and preview documents on multiple pages to confirm consistent rendering.
My logo or barcode isn’t showing correctly in the exported PDF — how do I troubleshoot?
Check the image format and resolution (use high-resolution PNG/SVG or JPG), ensure the block sits inside the header safe area and is not hidden behind other elements, and confirm alignment and sizing in the layout editor. Use Preview to test exports; if the issue persists, re-upload the asset or contact QuoteCloud support with the document and export settings.
