FAQs
What does the Duplicate / Copy‑Paste Row feature do?
The Duplicate / Copy‑Paste Row feature in QuoteCloud clones an entire row that contains one or more content blocks (text, images, videos, etc.). It recreates the row's layout and contents so you can quickly reuse consistent sections without rebuilding them from scratch.
This capability is especially useful when using sales quoting software or sales proposal software to produce repeatable sections across quotes and proposals.
Why should I duplicate or copy/paste a row in my document editor?
Duplicating or copy/pasting rows saves time and ensures design consistency by reusing proven layouts and content blocks rather than recreating them manually. It reduces errors and speeds up document construction for repetitive sections like feature blocks, pricing rows, or service descriptions.
In quote software and proposal software workflows, this helps you deliver polished sales documents faster while keeping branding and formatting consistent across proposals and sales quotes.
How do I duplicate a row in the QuoteCloud document editor?
Hover over the row you want to replicate, right‑click to open the context menu, and choose the 'Duplicate' option. The editor will insert a new row—typically directly below the original—that you can immediately edit.
If you prefer more control, choose 'Copy' and then 'Paste' from the context menu to insert the cloned row exactly where you want it in the document.
How is Copy/Paste different from the Duplicate action?
'Duplicate' creates a cloned row automatically—usually inserted directly below the original—for fast inline copying. 'Copy/Paste' first copies the selected row to your clipboard and lets you paste it wherever you choose in the document, giving you more control over placement.
Use Duplicate for speed and Copy/Paste when you need to move a layout block to a different section of your sales proposal or quote.
Does the duplicated row retain images, videos, formatting, and layout?
Yes. QuoteCloud's Duplicate / Copy‑Paste Row feature clones the row's content blocks and reproduces the layout and formatting so images, embedded videos, text styling, and block structure are retained in the new row.
After duplicating, you can edit any element in the cloned row to customize it for a specific quote or proposal while preserving overall design consistency.
Can I paste a copied row anywhere in my document?
Yes. When you use the Copy/Paste workflow you control where the copied row is inserted—paste it into any valid insertion point within the document. This flexibility makes it easy to reuse complex blocks across different sections of a proposal or sales quote.
For rapid inline copying, use Duplicate; for relocating content between sections, use Copy then Paste.
Are there keyboard shortcuts for duplicating or copying rows?
The QuoteCloud editor exposes Duplicate and Copy/Paste via the row context menu, which is the primary method described in the editor. Many users also use standard browser or OS keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl/Cmd+C and Ctrl/Cmd+V) after selecting a row to copy and paste, but availability can vary by platform and editor configuration.
If you rely heavily on shortcuts, check your editor's help or settings to confirm supported key combinations for faster quote and proposal creation.
Best practices when duplicating rows in sales quoting or proposal software?
Use duplicated rows to maintain consistent branding, pricing layouts, and service descriptions across all documents. Start from well‑designed template rows for feature lists, pricing blocks, or legal text to reduce mistakes and accelerate document production.
Rename or annotate complex rows in your templates, remove or edit unnecessary content in the duplicate, and preview each quote or proposal to ensure accuracy before sending to clients.
