FAQs
What does "merging pricing tables" mean in the QuoteCloud Document Editor?
Merging pricing tables combines two or more interactive price tables into a single organized table so related line items, pricing columns, and selection controls appear together. This produces a cleaner layout for clients and makes the document easier to manage inside QuoteCloud, helping your sales quoting software and sales proposal software present consolidated pricing clearly.
How do I lasso-select and move multiple pricing tables as a group?
Use the Document Editor's Lasso/selection outline: click and drag an outline around the tables you want to select. Once highlighted, use the editor's drag handles to move the whole selection as a group — reposition them on the page or place them next to a target table to prepare for merging.
Can I select and merge multiple pricing tables at once?
Yes. The editor supports multi-selection with the Lasso tool. Select several pricing tables, drag them together to the desired position, and the editor will combine their placement into a single, merged table in your quote software or proposal software.
How do I merge one pricing table into another in the editor?
Select the source table using the selection outline, grab a drag handle, and drag it into or beside the target table area. Place it where you want the rows or columns to appear; the editor will integrate the placement into the target table so the rows, columns, and controls form a unified layout.
Does QuoteCloud support formulas and automatic calculations in pricing tables?
Yes. QuoteCloud pricing tables support formulas and automatic calculations so totals, taxes, and conditional pricing update dynamically. After merging tables, verify that column references and formula mappings still point to the correct fields and preview totals to ensure calculations work as expected.
Can I still edit line items, pricing columns, and selection controls after merging?
Absolutely. Merged tables remain fully editable: you can add, remove, or reorder line items and columns, update pricing, and adjust selection controls. Use the editor's handles and inline controls to refine the merged table, and use undo or version history if you need to revert changes.
What are best practices for merging price tables to create a clearer client presentation?
Group related products or services before merging, standardize column headings and units, and keep similar pricing models together. Preview the merged table in client view, use descriptive subheadings, and minimize redundant columns. These steps improve readability and polish proposals created with your quote software or proposal software.
Are there limitations or things to avoid when using the Lasso and merging price tables?
Avoid merging tables that use fundamentally different pricing models (for example, time-based vs. fixed-bundle) without first harmonizing columns and formulas. Large or complex merges can require manual formula checks and layout tweaks. Always preview the document and confirm calculations after merging to prevent errors in your sales quoting software or proposal output.
