Steps to add a node to your Diagram
Activate the Diagram block
Click anywhere inside your existing Diagram block to start interacting with it and open the settings tools.Locate the Insert Nodes section
In the right-hand settings panel, find the Insert Nodes section, which displays a variety of available shapes.Drag and drop a shape
Pick a shape (such as a rectangle for a process step or a diamond for a decision), drag it from the side panel, and drop it onto the diagram canvas where you want it to appear.Position the node
Once dropped, you can click and drag the node to align it perfectly with the other stages of your flowchart.Prepare for connection
With the node in place, it is now ready to be connected to other shapes, moved further, or edited for content.
FAQs
What does it mean to add new shapes and nodes to a QuoteCloud flowchart?
Adding new shapes and nodes means placing additional diagram objects onto the QuoteCloud canvas to represent steps, decision points, actors, data stores or relationships. Each shape becomes an editable element that can hold labels and metadata and be styled, connected and reorganized as part of your flowchart, org chart, ER model or data flow diagram.
How do I insert new shapes or nodes into my flowchart?
Open the QuoteCloud diagram editor, open the shape library, then click a shape or drag it onto the canvas. Position the shape where you want it, edit its label and properties, and use alignment or snapping guides to keep the layout tidy. After placing shapes, use the connector tool to draw lines and define relationships or flow directions.
Are newly added shapes and nodes customizable?
Yes. After adding a node you can edit its text label, font, size, fill and border styles, colors and other visual properties to match your diagram or brand. Many properties are editable per shape so you can visually distinguish decision points, systems, actors or data stores for clarity and consistency.
Is it possible to rearrange, resize, or remove shapes after adding them?
Absolutely. Once shapes are on the canvas you can drag them to new positions, resize them with on-canvas handles, group or ungroup multiple nodes, and delete any unwanted elements. These operations let you iterate quickly as your flowchart or organisational design evolves.
How do I connect shapes or create flow lines between nodes?
Use the diagram editor's connector or line tool to draw links between anchor points on shapes. Connectors snap to node attachment points and can show direction, labels or conditional branches to represent relationships and process flow clearly.
What types of diagrams can I build using QuoteCloud shapes and nodes?
QuoteCloud supports a variety of diagram types including flowcharts, organisation charts, entity‑relationship (ER) models and data flow diagrams. The flexible shape library and connector tools let you model processes, hierarchies, data relationships and system interactions.
Can shapes contain data or metadata, and how is that information used?
Yes. Each shape can act as a container for text and metadata such as IDs, notes or custom properties. This data helps you document process steps, attach descriptive information to entities, and integrate diagram elements into broader documents or export workflows.
How does QuoteCloud's diagram editor help when creating sales quotes or proposals?
Using diagrams inside QuoteCloud enhances clarity in sales quoting software and sales proposal software by visually mapping processes, organisational structures or system relationships directly within proposals. Embedding clear flowcharts and ER diagrams in your proposals helps prospects understand complex offers, reduces back-and-forth, and strengthens the overall presentation of your quote software or proposal software deliverables.
