FAQs
What does "Set Page Background Colour" do in QuoteCloud?
Setting a page background colour adds a fill behind the content of a document page in QuoteCloud so your proposals and quotes better reflect your brand. The background sits behind text, images and embedded elements to create a polished presentation for sales quoting software and sales proposal software users.
Can I set a background colour for any page in my document?
Yes. You can apply a background colour to individual pages—cover pages, section breaks or any page in the document—so different pages can have different looks. This flexibility is useful when using QuoteCloud as quote software or proposal software to highlight a cover or key section.
How do I set or change a page background colour in QuoteCloud?
Open the document in the QuoteCloud editor, select the page (or page settings) you want to change, choose the Background or Colour option, then pick a preset or enter a hex colour code and apply it to the current page or the whole document. Save your changes and preview the page to confirm the result. If you use templates, you can update the template background or override it per page.
Does a page background colour work with templates and other document styling?
Yes. Page backgrounds integrate with QuoteCloud templates and document styles. A template can define a default background which you can keep or override on specific pages. When combining backgrounds with other styling, check the template hierarchy to know whether the template or the page setting takes precedence.
Will a page background colour affect PDF exports or printing?
Background colours are included when exporting to PDF, but final appearance can vary by viewer and printer. Some print settings (or low-ink printers) may omit background fills by default, so always test a PDF export and a printed sample. For consistent client delivery from your sales quoting software, consider embedding a background in the template or flattening to PDF before sharing.
Can I apply different background colours to different pages or sections?
Yes. QuoteCloud allows per-page background colours so you can use one colour for the cover, another for section headers, and white or subtle tints for content-heavy pages. This helps maintain readability while showcasing branded touches in your quote software or proposal software documents.
How are embedded PDFs and other uploaded content handled when I set a page background colour?
Embedded PDFs and images usually retain their own backgrounds and are placed on top of the page background. If an embedded PDF has transparency, the page background will show behind it; otherwise the embedded file will cover the page fill. If you need the page background to show through, export or save embedded files with transparent areas.
What are best practices for choosing page background colours for branding and accessibility?
Choose colours that align with your brand palette but prioritize legibility: ensure strong contrast between background and text (follow WCAG contrast guidelines), avoid very dark or saturated backgrounds on text-heavy pages, and test both on-screen and in print. Use consistent hex codes in templates to keep branding uniform across sales quoting software and quote software outputs, and preview exports to confirm accessibility and professional presentation.
